Frosh Sci: Week of 11/30

Lesson Description:

On Monday, we started our new unit (Micro Organisms). We were assigned parts in our groups, Find your assigned topic here. Our warm up was to brainstorm as many diseases as possible. We were extremely successful in my opinion. For classwork we assigned roles (see above). For cool down we were explained that this is our class blog where our work will be posted and explained. Our homework was to research our roles and it was due Tuesday.

On Tuesday, we continued our unit on Micro Organisms. Our warm up was to read a sheet on body systems and write a short summary on one of them. Our classwork was to fill out a sheet on Google Docs about Homeostasis and Feedback Background. For our cool down we worked on our specialty research from our assigned topic. Our homework for this day was to complete our specialty research. It is due on Monday 12/7

On Thursday, we watched a video about homeostasis for our warmup. Beware of it, its a bit… strange, to say the least. For our classwork we did some more work on our role research. During cool down we did our brag sheets again, remember, they are used for Sylvia to measure how you’re doing by taking your views of how you did into account so be truthful in how good you were. Our homework is to finish our role research. It is due Monday 12/7.

  2. We learned about homeostasis. Also, never trust Australian videos about homeostasis if it is animated.

  3. I think the most important idea we covered this week was speaking about negative and positive feed back and discussing the way that those affected the homeostasis.

  4. I think the main thing we have to know is that our body’s temperature normal temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, high temperature is 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and the low temperature is 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
